The Cross is the Answer

Many people today hear a lot about Christianity but they fail to hear the most important part of the gospel message: the message of the Cross. The Apostle Paul made it very clear what his desire was in his ministry and preaching. He said in 1 Corinthians 1:17-19-"For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Paul would later say in 1 Corinthians 2:2-"For I desired to know nothing among you, except Jesus Christ and Him crucifed." In other words, Paul was simply stating that his message to preach was simple and yet profound. He was preaching about Jesus Christ and His death on the cross and his glorious resurrection and power. Many people have a hard time dealing with the gruesome and brutal way in which Jesus died and they would rather not hear the message of the cross and the blood that was shed by Jesus Christ. This is why many people really don't want to hear about it and why many people are offended and unwilling to accept salvation. However, the message of the cross is the most powerful and awesome message for lost humanity. In the cross of Jesus Christ is salvation, healing, deliverance from the demonic, freedom, peace, love, joy, grace, mercy and every other attribute that can be bestowed upon us by our Heavenly Father. It's found in the cross. That's why Paul said he would glory in the cross of Jesus Christ. In the cross is the answers to life's problems and this truth will never change.
